"Heat" collects archival images produced by astrophysicists from the 50's to the 90's at the Laboratory of Astrophysics in Marseille.
​
Over time, these images of space have gradually lost their scientific purpose, as new imaging technologies have rendered them obsolete. Abandoned but not destroyed, these images were gifted to artist Caroline Corbasson who explores their rich poetry in collaboration with photographer Andrea Montano.
​
Photographs of stellar fields, comets, and nebulae are extracted from their scientific context and fascinate with a beauty that oscillates between the astral plane and traces of stardust.
“Heat" presents the collision of Caroline and Andrea's work in vivid color, paired with the archival images printed in stunning black and white.
